Hat Night and aged stallion splits causes a commotion

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn.— The first Saturday night of The Celebration is the preliminary to the big stake night where the Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse of the world is crowned. The first Saturday night is the main qualifier to see who will show back for that special honor. In addition to this, the Lead Line World Grand Championship and the Yearling World Grand Championship usher in the first spotlight rides of The Celebration.

Wild West Night and the Three-Year-Old Stallion split delight spectators

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – It was horse show time once again in Shelbyville. The first Friday night of The Celebration always brings with it the first of the Fine Harness classes and the exciting split of the Three-Year-Old Stallions. Dubbed Wild West Night at The Celebration, the evening’s festivities began promptly at 7PM. Mark Farrar announced the flag bearer, White Diamond Dollar and Hall of Fame rider Vicki Self.

John (Johnny) David Cook Jr., was on born October 7, 1960, and passed from this life on August 19, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Eloise Cook (Dudley), He is survived by one brother, Ronnie Cook (Sherri) of Tollsboro, KY, Uncle Jim Cook of Union, KY Uncle Richard Cook (Rita) of Union, KY, Uncle Neil Dudley of NC and several cousins.

One … Two … Three … Four trips to victory lane for Ally Jo Jacobs

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – Saturday Morning at the celebration opens the fourth day of showing, and italways denotes the youth pleasure and equitation classes. Starting promptly at 9AM, the 12 classes onthe program for the morning session got underway. Parents and coaches cheered on their youngcontenders from the warmup ring and the stands alike. Travis Owen announced the ringmasters, judgingpanel and ringmaster Charles Cush’s birthday. Then the gate opened for the first class of the day.

A Thursday night for donuts, youth riders and two-year-olds

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The first Thursday night of The Celebration is always full of promise as the Two-Year-Old Mare spilt and the Owner-Amateur Two-Year-Old split showcase the newest generation of great walking horses. The show got underway at precisely 7PM, with Mark Farrar welcoming White Diamond Dollar and Vicki Self into the show ring.
