Obituary – William "Billy" Watson

William “Billy” Watson, 61, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, in Bristol, TN at Select Specialty Hospital, after an extended illness.
Billy was a graduate of Jonesville High School where he played all sports. He attended Clinch Valley College where he continued to play baseball for four years. He was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. After college, he pursued his lifelong passion of working with horses. He became a trainer and farrier of World Champion walking and racking horses. He received recognition as being one of the most skilled farriers east of the Mississippi in the walking horse field. Billy was also a member of the Galilee Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Granville “Bud” Watson.
Billy is survived by his wife, Sue Watson, of the home; his mother, Nadine Watson, of Jonesville; his brother, Eddie Watson and wife Debra, of Jonesville; a nephew, Hunter Watson, of Jonesville; and two brothers-in-law, Christian and Harold Aufinger, of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Neff officiating, and with a eulogy to be delivered by his brother, Eddie Watson. Private inurnment will be held at a later time.
