Obituary – Ronal Young

Ronal Edward Young, age 70, of Shelbyville passed from this life Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Nashville VA Medical Center.
Born October 2, 1949, in Chatsworth, GA, Ronal was the son of the late John Edward Young and Jean Young Poarch.
He is survived by: his wife of 35 years, Judy Young; mother, Jean (Bob) Poarch; daughter, Beth (Josh) Lawwell; and his grandkids, Jessica and Johnathon Lawwell.
Ronal grew up in his home town of Chatsworth, Georgia, graduated from Murray County High School and attended tech school in Pickens County, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged early so he could come home to take care of his family due to his father involvement in an automobile accident. He would then pick up the reins of his father’s profession of training and showing Tennessee Walking Horses and would do so for 56 years.
In his free time Ronal enjoyed trail riding, camping, his dogs, and loved to be with his daughter and watching his grandkids show horses and play sports.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in the chapel of Doak- Howell Funeral Home with Brother Steve Murphree officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to service starting at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Doak-Howell Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
