Applications are now being accepted for the Jane Hardy Meredith Memorial Scholarship. The deadline for applying is July 30, 2024 and two recipients will be selected to receive $1,000 each. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance (1/3), extracurricular activities (1/3), and equine involvement (1/3). Scholarships can be used for undergraduate educational expenses at the College, Junior College, University or Trade School of the recipient’s choice. Jane Hardy Meredith was well known and loved and highly successful in every aspect of her life. The Tennessee Walking Horse industry was a huge part of Jane, and it occupied a big piece of her heart ever since she started riding as a child. When she became involved with Tennessee Walking Horses, she pursued that with all the love and passion that was synonymous with Jane. She was a beautiful rider, owner, breeder and advocate for the Tennessee Walking Horse. She served in leadership roles within the industry including as a board member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association, including five terms on the Executive Committee. She was always known for her beauty, grace, loyalty and for standing up for everything she believed.
 
The Jane Hardy Meredith Memorial Scholarship is being administered through the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ Foundation.
