The proposed rule by USDA-APHIS that would seek to eliminate the Tennessee Walking Show Horse in both performance and pleasure divisions by removing all equipment on the show horse and eliminating all Horse Industry Organizations is in its final review at the Office of Management and Budget. Torridon Law PLLC, who represents the Tennessee Walking Horse industry and filed the comments on the proposed rule also is the firm that represents trainers Michael, Casey and Josh Wright in their federal lawsuit challenging the enforcement of the Horse Protection Act in the areas of due process, the scar rule and post show inflammation. Torridon Law sent the following letter to OMB asking them to take note of the lawsuit filed in federal court as well as the USDA's recent change in the enforcement of the scar rule without any notice or comment period.
