The Walking Horse Report is sad to announce the recent passing of 2xWC & RWC Gin And Juice.
Foaled March 9, 2005, Gin And Juice was sired by Gen’s Black Gin and out of a Pride’s Night Prowler mare named Prowling Doll. He was bred and raised by Ty Irby and later sold to Rick and Marla Lovett. The talented colt got his start with Bobby Hughes and later moved to David Landrum Stables under the direction of trainer Joe Cotten.
Making his debut show at the popular Mississippi Charity, Gin and Juice made quite the show winning the Amateur Two-Year-Old Stallions class, as well as the Amateur Two-Year-Old Championship. The talented colt would be shown a total of nine times his two-year-old season winning five first place honors, as well as a Reserve World Championship title.
Gin And Juice continued strong showing a career total of 84 times winning such shows as the Columbia Spring Jubilee, Woodbury Lions Club, International Grand Championship, Eagleville Lions Club, Money Tree Classic and the Red Carpet Show of the South, just to name a few. Trainers who played a part in his show career were Joe Cotten, Joel Weaver, Mike Hilley, Chad Williams, Link Webb, Brock Tillman, Mickey McCormick and Larry George.
Wins at the Celebration came in 2007 in the O/A Two-Year-Old Stallions Sec. A when he was crowned Reserve World Champion. In 2009, Gin And Juice took the Gentlemen’s Fine Harness World Championship and in 2014 won the Fine Harness Sec. A World Championship.
At the age of 19, this sweet companion passed over the rainbow bridge and will be sadly missed by all who came in contact with the show ring star.
